There are many reasons why students don’t pass their test. At Sallyann’s Driving School we have trained hundreds of students just like you. Sallyann Gotting and her husband Graham are both RSA certified driving instructors (ADI). Serving Tallaght and the surrounding region since 2006 they have nearly 40 years training experience between them.
QQI Qualified Driving Instructor Trainer:
In addition, Sallyann has been QQI qualified in “Train the Trainer” since 2011. This means she doesn’t just train learner drivers, she also teaches the other driving instructors, so she’s the teacher’s teacher. Who would you rather have teach you to drive, the teacher or the master?
Expertise in Counselling and Addiction:
Nearly half of all learner drivers experience some degree of anxiety related to either driving, driving on the motorway or around the test itself. Sallyann can help here too. In 2021 she received her Bachelor of Arts degree (BA Honors) in Counselling with Addiction from Munster University and is a member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). She is one of only 3 ADI instructors in the whole of the UK and Ireland who has this additional qualification. Sallyann uses a range of techniques from this field of expertise and brings all of these approaches to her driving instruction lessons on an as-needed, tailored basis for each of her students:

A Tailored Approach:
Sallyann Driving School is not a production-line or cookie-cutter driving school that churns through students. Each student is different and while our training approach is consistent not every student needs to start at the same place. Some of our students for instance come to us first and get full training before preparing for their test with a pre-test /mock-exam test before going on to successfully pass their test with the RSA. Other students have already completed a full set of Essential Driver Training (EDT) lessons but still have weak areas in their driving skill competencies. Some are competent but still lack confidence. Some have both competency weaknesses and lack confidence.

After been driving for 12 years on a provisional and had to do the driving test. Sally recommended I do at least 5 1-hour lessons just before the test, Sally’s car was new at the time and very responsive towards car I would have been used to, anyway Sally’s lessons where the best couldn’t recommend her highly enough she picked up all my bad driving on the first lesson and we worked on them for the rest. Message: Before sitting my pre-test with Sallyann, I had sat the test twice and was failed both times on minor-silly errors that should not have cost me my test. I had had close to thirty lessons, 5 pre-tests and two years experience on the road. I was honestly beginning to think the test was unfairly marked and far too stressful a process for anyone to undergo. Finally on receiving notification of my third driving test date I decided to try a new school altogether and I came across Sallyann’s page. I thought-here’s a new face, and so I rang and arranged for a pre-test to be scheduled for the morning of my test. Sallyann recommended I try sit two pre-tests as you never can tell just how much you may still need to work on. So I had a pre-test with her colleague Graham and then herself. Both lessons were immediately different in that they firstly-reminded me this is just a once off thing! Pass and you shall never be subjected to this pressure again! Secondly, they just let me do my thing and then demonstrated themselves what I needed to improve on. Whether it was the demonstrations themselves or how both Graham and Sallyann addressed the issues – it didn’t matter cause it worked. I felt calmer than ever, more ready than ever and even my driving tester said he was impressed with my driving ability.
Overall, I would happily like to recommend Both of these instructors and commend them on both their teaching and interpersonal skills.

The first time I met her I just felt that she would be the one who could make me lose my fear of driving. I definitely was looking for pass my test but this was not the main thing. What I really wanted was getting rid of my fear after a terrible accident that I had a few years ago. Guess what? Everything was sorted. As a Brazilian woman, I thought would be impossible to learn to the other side of the road and Sallyann corrected every single mistake and brought my confidence back.
